If the factory steel pan on your truck is rusted, dented or just not holding enough fluid, this Mishimoto pan is a solid replacement. It's cast aluminum and holds 6.6 more quarts of ATF than stock. More fluid means the transmission runs cooler and holds up better when you're towing or running more power, and that matters on a 7.3L that works for a living.
Mishimoto put some thought into the install. Bolt retainers hold the fasteners in the pan, so you're not juggling the pan and bolts over your head. The machined sealing surface works with a factory-style gasket or sealant. Inside, baffles keep the fluid from sloshing around and help pull heat out.
Note: 6.4L trucks built on or after 5/21/2007 that use OEM filter 8C3Z7A098D must switch to the earlier filter (3C3Z7A098AA / Motorcraft FT-144), or the pan will not fit. 7.3L, 6.0L and earlier-build 6.4L trucks use the standard filter.
