General Hydra Help Setup - Standard Tuning

  1. Locate the PCM box code for your truck. Directions are HERE.

  2. Download and install HydraFlash software HERE.

  3. Using the PCM box code, calculate your preferred calibration using the Box/HEX converter. Directions HERE

  4. Choose the calibrations you want in HydraFlash. It's very important that they are ALL THE SAME HEX STRATEGY. You cannot have different HEX codes on a chip. It will cause your truck to stall.

  5. Pull your PCM and THOROGHLY clean the silicone from the connectors. Clean top, bottom, between grooves, everywhere there could be silicone. Many customers forget to clean the underside - don't forget the underside! If you have problems with your truck not starting, 99.99% of the time it's because of silicone still on the connectors or connectors worn down to the copper.

  6. If you have questions, please call us. Install chip in PCM and replace in truck. For detailed directions and videos, see below. First position will always be "Stock" and last position will always be "No Start".

Hydra Serial Number

The Hydra Serial Number is a unique 8 digit code, it will contain numbers and/or letters. We will need this for all tuning orders.

To find your Hydra Serial Number there are several ways to retrieve it depending on how old your Hydra is. On the newer Hydras (7/1/21 to present) the serial number will be located on a white label affixed to the chip itself. The older chips won't have this label. On the newer ones, you can find the serial number on the outside of the white box that it was packaged in as well.

If you happen to have an older Hydra, you will need to connect the chip to Hydra Flash on your PC (Click Here to download Hydra Flash) via a USB cable. The 8 Digit Serial Number will be on the lower right hand side of the screen. See screenshot below & video below.
