Once a Super Duty is making more power or pulling heavy, the rear leaf springs start to twist under load. That axle wrap causes wheel hop on launch and puts a lot of stress on the driveshaft, U-joints and rear end. The S&B traction bar kit controls that wrap without binding up the rear suspension. Its bushing and mount design lets the axle keep its full articulation and travel, so you get the traction without losing ride quality or flex.
The bars are adjustable in length from 50" up to 84", so they can be set up for your wheelbase and cab/bed combination. This is the short gusset version. It also clears S&B fuel tanks and AMP Research steps. For a 7.3L or 6.0L Super Duty with leaf springs and a solid rear axle, it's one of the best upgrades you can make for putting power down.
Note: The axle mounts are weld-on and need to be welded to the axle tubes during install. Not needed on 2013 Ram trucks with rear coil springs.
